Richard graduated from Spencer High School in 1933. He served his country in the United States Army. Richard was united in marriage to Irene Mitchell on November 23, 1939, in Estherville, Iowa.

Richard owned and operated Manogue Construction for thirty years, before retiring. He has always enjoyed spending his spare time fishing, hunting and the great outdoors. He was a member of the American Legion, the Knights of Columbus and St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Richard is survived by his wife, Irene Manogue of Spirit Lake; two daughters, Judy Gutchess, and her husband, Dan, of Spirit Lake, and Sandy Yarnes, and her husband, Ted, of Kent, Washington; five grandchildren, Chad and Keith Riley, and Chris, Mike and Joe Yarnes; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and four brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00A.M. Friday, April 2, at the Schuchert Funeral Home in Spirit Lake.
