Derek Thomas Frederick, age 39, passed away Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Avera Holy Family Hospital in Estherville. He was born on May 20, 1970, in Estherville, to Duane "Sam" and Phyllis (Hamilton) Frederick.
 
Derek graduated from Estherville High School in 1988. Later, he furthered his education graduating with his AA Degree from Iowa Lakes Community College.
 
Derek worked for AGCO in Jackson, Minnesota, for 21 years. When he was not working, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, photography and coaching baseball. Derek’s true passion was spending time with his wife and two boys.
 
Derek is survived by his wife, Kristi Frederick of Estherville; two sons, Justin and Logan Frederick, of Estherville; two brothers, Dave Frederick, and his wife, Leslie, of Denver, Colorado, and Dan Frederick, and his wife, Mary, of Renton, Washington; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister.
 
A funeral service will be held at 11:00A.M. Friday, at the Schuchert Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 4:00P.M. until 6:00P.M. at the Schuchert Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Derek’s name.
