Della Arthur, 91 years of age, died on May 19, 2010, at her home in Spirit Lake, Iowa, with her husband and family by her side. The visitation will be held at Schuchert Funeral Home Monday, from 5:00P.M. until 7:00P.M. The memorial service will be held at Schuchert  Funeral Home at 11:00A.M. Tuesday. Burial will be at a later date.

Della was born on December 8, 1918 in North Superior, Iowa, to Eldon and Marie Lennox. She is the oldest of 9 children. Della married Virgil John Arthur in December 31, 1939, and began their journey in Spirit Lake, Iowa. Later, resided in Little Rock, Iowa, from 1944-1960, then returned to Spirit Lake, Iowa, to reside the remainder of her fulfilled life. Della and Virgil shared their lives with 3 loving daughters, Susan, Sally, and Shelley. Throughout their 70 years of marriage, Della and Virgil shared their family and love with many. Often the Arthur house was home for many, from extended family to friends.

Della ended her journey comfortably at home with many loved ones around her. She is preceded in death by her parents and all nine siblings. Surviving are her husband, Virgil and three daughters; Susan Honley, Sally Hoffman, Shelly Namtvedt and their families including the 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. The family thanks the Spirit Lake community and Lakes Regional Hospice for the outgoing love and support Della and Virgil have enjoyed and received throughout their lives.
