Anita Dean

Anita N. Dean, age 65, of Spirit Lake, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013, at her home in Spirit Lake. She was born on October 10, 1947, in Cavite City, Philippines, to Pedro and Justina (Nobleza) Gemina. Anita was united in marriage to Dennis Dean on September 26, 1971, in Spirit Lake. She worked for Berkley's for forty years before retiring in 2011. Anita enjoyed spending her spare time gardening, camping, taking motorcycle rides and loving her family. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Anita is survived by her husband, Dennis Dean of Spirit Lake; son, Larry Dean, and his wife, Mindy of Spirit Lake; five sisters, Lina Naguiat, and her husband, Ben of the Philippines, Edith Granger, and her husband, Wayne of Florala, Alabama, Susan Medina, and her husband, Fred of New Jersey, Thess Ziraoui, and her husband, Latiff of Jacksonville, Florida, and Ruby Gemina of Birmingham, Alabama; four brothers, Felix Gemina, and his friend, Lia of Crestview, Florida, Hector Gemina, and his wife, Agnes of Crestview, Florida, Pedro Gemina Jr., of Crestview, Florida, and Roland Gemina of Birmingham, Alabama; mother-in-law, Lee Anna Nielsen of Spirit Lake; sisters-in-law, Edith Gemina of Crestview, Florida, Barb Mills, and her husband, Donald of Spirit Lake, Roxanne Sidles, and her husband, Terry of Spirit Lake, Patti Bruhns, and her friend, Kirk of Spirit Lake, Jacki Marderness, and her husband, Scott of Milford, Jolene Egertson, and her husband, Scott of Spirit Lake, and Lisa Hurd, and her husband, Randy of Spirit Lake; brother-in-law, Greg Dean, and his wife, Kara of Spirit Lake; six grandchildren, Paige, Chaz, Tyson, Taylor, Trista and Sheniah; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Geraldo and Sammy; father-in-law, Earl Dean; and step-father-in-law, Harry Nielsen. A funeral service will be held at 10:30A.M. Friday, July 26, 2013, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Spirit Lake. Visitation will be held Thursday, from 4:00P.M. until 6:00P.M. at the Schuchert Funeral Home. Burial will be at St. Margaret's Cemetery.
