Jean Nelle Mahannah

Jean Mahannah, 94, of Omaha, formerly of Arnolds Park, passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Crown Pointe Care Center in Omaha, NE. A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025, at the Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of the Robinson Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Online condolences may be left at www.spiritlakefuneralhome.com Jean Nelle Mahannah was born on April 16, 1930, to John and Florence (Brown) Nelle in Omaha, NE. She graduated from North High School in Omaha, NE. Jean was united in marriage to H. Clarke Mahannah on February 7, 1953, in Omaha, NE. He preceded her in death on October 30, 2006, in Spirit Lake. Jean was a homemaker raising her children. In her free time, she enjoyed cooking, sewing, collecting dolls, and will be fondly remembered for her homemade cookies. She also enjoyed volunteering her time where she was needed and giving a helping hand when she could. She enjoyed the outdoors with her flower gardens. She has a long history with the Cherish Center, specifically volunteering at The Ol’ Garage Sale, even earning a Governor’s Award for volunteering. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Gary (Susan) Mahannah of Polk City, IA; Debora Mahannah of Williams, OR, Steven (Cathy) Mahannah of Omaha, NE; William “Bill” Mahannah of Bettendorf, IA; grandchildren, Ashley and Kaci Mahannah, Stephany and Sid Samuels, Megan and Nolan Sauceda, Molly and Stephan Mattison, Katie Mahannah, Amy and Nicholas Steward, step grandchildren, Brent and Kailyn Buchman, Alexis and Cody Ashby, Alyssa and Gerard Roman, great grandchildren, Caliber Coffman, Bailey and Brady Bhagwandin, Lily and Andrew Seward, step great-grandchildren, Brit and Marlee Samuels, Kirsten Samuels, Emeri and Wyatt Buchman, Keegan and Stella Ashby, Kolton Roman, and a great-great grandchild Beckett Samuels.
