Dorothy Jean Johnson

Dorothy Jean Johnson, 95, of Spirit Lake died on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Lakes Regional Health Care in Spirit Lake. She was born February 8, 1926, in Newry Township, Freeborn County, Minnesota. She graduated from Blooming Prairie, MN High School in 1943. She went on to live in Seattle, WA, Denver, CO and El Centro, Ca before returning to Minnesota. Dorothy was united in marriage to Ronald S. Johnson on July 2, 1950, in Blooming Prairie, MN. They lived in Blooming Prairie, Warren, Wheaton, Hector, and Clarkfield Minnesota and Devils Lake, ND. They moved to Spirit Lake in 1983. She is survived by her son, Lee Johnson and his wife, Kathleen of Keller, Texas, two daughters; Lyn Leske and her husband Richard of Buffalo Lake, MN and Jan Huntsinger and her husband John of Spirit Lake, 4 grandchildren, Thad Johnson of Ft. Worth, Texas, Tyler Johnson and his wife Karen of Plano Texas, Michela Kopitski and her husband Jason of Marshall, Minnesota, Nicholas Leske and his wife See of Marshall, MN and 3 great grandchildren, Allison and Carson Kopitski and Jett Leske of Marshall, MN. She was so looking forward to meeting her newest great grandchild in June. Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ronald, a son, Kent, a grandson, Richard Jr., a great granddaughter, Aubrey, her 4 brothers and 2 sister-in-laws. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date at the Schuchert-Lentz Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. Burial will take place in the Lake View Gardens Cemetery in Spirit Lake.
