Rachel E. Wegman

Rachel Elizabeth Wegman, age 92, of Milford, passed away on Friday, June 6, 2014, at the Milford Nursing Center in Milford, Iowa. She was born on May 23, 1922, in Sioux City, Iowa, to John and Maude (Brush) Deibner. Rachel graduated from Spirit Lake High School in 1940. She was united in marriage to Orville "Dusty" Wegman on July 24, 1948, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Rachel worked as a dental assistant to Dr. Coon in Estherville, for many years. Rachel was a member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Spirit Lake. She will always be remembered for her great sense of humor and her beautiful smile! Rachel is survived by her children, Suzanne Smith of Northfield, Minnesota, and Jerry Wegman, and his wife, Rochelle of Mankato, Minnesota; son-in-law, Curtis Larson of Estherville; four grandchildren, Jay, Steven, Michelle and Jeremy; and five great-grandchildren, Trevor, Logan, Ian, Rachel and Blakely. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maude Deibner; her husband, Dusty; daughter, Patricia Larson; two brothers, Richard Deibner and Harold Deibner; and a niece, Ann Deibner. A memorial service will be held at 11:00A.M. Tuesday, June 10, 2014, at St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Spirit Lake. Burial will be at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Alban's Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 85, Spirit Lake, Iowa, 51360. The Schuchert Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
