Robert "Bob" Lampe

July 11, 1950 - November 3, 2021

Robert “Bob” Lampe, 71, of Spirit Lake, formerly of Pocahontas and Ashton, passed away on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, at his home in Spirit Lake surrounded by his family. Family will greet friends from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at the Schuchert-Lentz Funeral Home in Spirit Lake. There will be a private family memorial service. Robert Phillip Lampe was born on July 11, 1950, in Laurens, IA to Norbert and Phyllis (Murphy) Lampe. He graduated from Sheldon High School in Sheldon, IA in 1969. Bob was united in marriage to Cheryl Frey on January 10, 1974, in Sioux Falls, SD. Bob attended the 100th Basic Training Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in Johnston, IA. Bob served the public as a Police officer for the City of Pocahontas and was later elected to serve as the Pocahontas County Sheriff. He owned and operated Lampe Tree Service in Ashton and Pocahontas for many years. Bob retired from Law Enforcement after serving 31 years. Bob was a long-standing member in the Iowa State Sheriff’s and Deputies Association. In his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, collecting guns and spending time spoiling his grandkids and taking his dog Suzie for golf cart rides around Triboji. Left to cherish his memory is his wife Cheryl Lampe of Spirit Lake; children Jennifer (Brian) Fox of Colorado Springs, CO; Cory Lampe of Humbolt, IA; Travis (Janet) Lampe of Emmetsburg, IA; Jamie Ferguson of Pocahontas, IA; and Carrie (Brian) Bunda of Pocahontas, IA; grandchildren, Joshua, Hailey, Kala, Taelyn, Madison, Jacob, Katelyn, Riley, Jenna, Carley and Aubrey; brother Keith (Sherry) Lampe of Lake City, IA; Virginia Huss of Ashton, IA; beloved dog Suzie and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers-in-law Bob Frey and Rich Huss.
